Deny Beruff's Mitigation Bank Permit a Ploy to Destroy our Environment

Regulatory Agencies need to do their job or get out of the business.

Commercial gain should not trump conservation of the Bay mangrove and coastal areas that are getting more and more limited due to development. Elected officials should be careful not to disregard the need to preserve the natural attributes of this important bayside area at Bradenton. Beruff's proposed mitigation bank should be denied by the FDEP.

Please stop this bad idea.

We can not afford to compromise the safety of our ecosystem or the quality of life we have come to enjoy. We are already burdening Manatee County with over crowding, poor drainage and endangering our wild life. This project is just another example of poor judgement on the part of our elected officials.

Mitigation banks are another way for developers to get around environmental regulations. Beruff must be stopped at every turn.

NO Dredging in this area Protect OUR bay.

The destruction of wetlands and disruption of wildlife for personal gain is simply unacceptable.

We need to pursue federal protection for our shorelines and estuaries. The State of Florida and our own County Commission are not reliable defenders of our environment.

Deny this permit. It destroys needed mangrove buffers and contributes to congestion and pollution of a particularly fragile environment.

Our environmental safety should not be for sale! The mangroves/shoreline environment are just too vital for storm protection and as marine-life nurseries to let this company destroy them for personal profit.

As a Florida State Park Manager (retired), I understood, protected, and preached the value of wetlands and natural areas. I worked on one of the first Comprehensive Land Use Plan for the Keys back in the early 80s and even then mangroves were set for protection as a valuable natural area, Still today, they are the basis of many food chains and webs and need to be protected and not face development's threats. Please deny this permit request.

Especially note there will be zero percent mangroves left untrimmed. Note the space left for a future boat channel for the potential marina. This is a bad plan. Please deny.

We must stop these people....NOW,

We can continue to destroy all that keeps our ecosystems healthy, or fight this kind of destructive development. It really is that simple.
