This summer, you on ipetitions helped the Wayne State Graduate Employee Organizing Committee receive the dental benefits that we negotiated in our contract.  Yes, that's right, we WON!  Now we have to fight for justice for our members that were harmed because they had dental work performed under the old plan, costing them hundreds of dollars in out of pocket charges.
As a union, we are in solidarity to help our members, even just a few, when they are wronged by the administration.  Let's show the administration that we are in solidarity with our members and united to ensure that the university reimburses the students for the costs they incurred.  Wayne State University is at fault for not correctly enacting our contract, so we should let them know they should pay for the harm it caused!

Updates

I have been hearing from more colleagues who paid hundreds of dollars because of this administrative error. We are currently compiling their receipts to present a clear case for reimbursement during our next meeting with the university.

Seeing this kind of momentum reminds me why we fought so hard for these benefits in the first place. My colleagues who paid out of pocket for dental care deserve to be made whole and your support proves the university cannot simply ignore their mistake.

This is just wrong. I had to pay out of pocket too and it completely ruined my budget for the month. Reimburse us now!

Pay people what they are owed. It is not that hard. Stop screwing over the grads who work so hard for this school.

WSU needs to step up and fix this immediately. A contract is a contract.
