This is sad but true , parks don't get visited. Sure, it will be popular at first but end up like the rest of the parks in town... .empty. Just more work for the city workers. Reality is kids don't play in parks anymore. The building is in good shape. A good start for something. Need a developer to step up and buy it and do something with it.

I would love to see a new park and splash pad area put in. I would love to be able to support the town more and do more things with my children in town instead of having to always go to the Clinton/Davenport area.

Have any of you been in the old drives building? I was just in it recently for a cooling issue and noticed no major issues. Last I knew part of the roof was replaced and wasnt leaking anymore. Why not turn that into a community center instead of building a new one by brinkmanns? The place is huge and can accomidate alot of needs. Why not make it a place to host birthday party? Set up some flat screens with xboxes and playstation and hold gaming events for the youth. Make themed nights like call of duty and minecraft. Days like these last few where kids are stuck inside due to the rain there is nothing for them to do. You all want it turned into a park but I tell you what, I do alot ot driving around this town and guess how many kids I see at the parks? Hardly any. It's not like it used to be at all where everyones kids played outside every day. Look at the new park down by the trailer ct. I have yet to see cars parked there with kids playing at it. But I can tell you that I see alot ot peoe use the pavillion at the 10th ave park. Why not make an I door place? I meant the old drives building is set up already and with a little help it can be a great place.

Time to let it go and think about the future , a modern Plaza area we already have the windmill and a museum tear down the drives building and maybe a bandshell and green space ,a smaller new building with modern amenities would be nice

We need to think of children as THEY are the future! We need another park for them to play in. How about a Splashpad for some water fun to go along with a new park in the area. Many towns have this and it is loved. Families have to go to neighbor towns to do almost everything. Please do not use our tax dollars to restore an old building that won’t even be used by all!!! Tear it down and invest in the families of this town!

What I love about Fulton is the fact that the people living there and from there take pride in the history of the town, which is evident all over. However, there comes a time when a town needs to brand itself with modern ideas as well. Take a look at the New Bohenia (NewBo) District in Cedar Rapips. It's full of varying restaurants/crafters/amenities available to and attracting to many different demographics and it would be great for Fulton to evolve to that.
Dont get me wrong, I love Fulton and always will! I just want to see the town progress and evolve and not waste money on a building because it's "sentimental."

Our children need sidewalks on the north end of town to walk on so they’re kept safe before we start spending $800,000 on a historical building that few people will frequent. How about we curb and gutter streets and fix our roads? Let’s use our tax dollars for things that are tangible and will make a difference on all citizens in Fulton.

I feel the building should be demolished cause it is going to be a continuous money put with not a lot of historical value.
