Demolish the Barry Jackson Tower
This petition is for the demolition of the Barry Jackson Tower on Estone Walk in Aston, Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Birmingham City Council initially proposed to demolish the tower due to it being unsafe for habitation.
However, it has recently come to light that the Council has changed this decision and have instead chosen to use the tower as "temporary accommodation".
The Council came to this decision without prior consultation with local residents about their new plans for the tower.
The Aston area is already stigmatised for being run down and influenced by drugs and crime.
We understand the Council's responsibility to rehouse vulnerable people; however, we, the local community feel that Aston is under enough pressure to cope with the Council's new plans. We fear for the welfare of our community with the presence of this tower and would like to see that the council demolishes the Barry Jackson Tower.
Please sign this petition if you support the demolition of the Barry Jackson Tower.
Let's rebuild our community!
