As per the notification Vide Notification No. HF/O/MERT/188/W-01/16 Dated 25th Feb 2016 on the basis of the GO issued by Rajendra S Shukla, Principal Secretary to the Govt. of West Bengal, in exercise of power conferred by proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India, the following amendment in the rules regulating recruitment to the post of (i) Lecturer, (ii) Senior Lecturer, (iii) Principal of the Institute of Pharmacy (For D.Pharm Course) under the Department of Health & family Welfare, Govt. of west Bengal, as notified vide Memo No HF/O/MA(MES)/3441/ME/IP-07-08 dated, Kolkata the 16th December, 2011 published in the Kolkata Gazette Extraordinary, dated 17.01.2012 was notified as - "In the said Rules, for the words, “Public Service Comission, West Bengal”, wherever they occur, substitute the words, “ West Bengal Health Recruitment Board"
As per the Kolkata Gazette Extraordinary, dated 17.01.2012, the West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB) was constituted on the basis of following points:
To provide proper delivery of health care services on a 24 x 7 basis to all citizens of the state through the different directorates / institutions and establishments under the control of Department of Health & Family Welfare,
“it is observed that the delivery system has not been functioning at the desired level owing to shortage of medical/para medical personnel and other staff belonging to various categories at different levels.”
it is found that there always remains a considerable time-gap between the requisition o f staff and officers for the department and the receipt of recommendations of selected candidates for filling up the vacant posts from the Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSCWB),
it is felt that if a Recruitment Board is constituted for direct recruitment to all categories of posts for which the appointing authority is the Government in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, including the authorities subordinate to the Governor exc
