Currently at Spearfish School disrict 40-2, the grading scale is outragous, to get an A in a class you need to get 96%. To get an A in most schools is 92%. This petition will lower the grading scale to to get an A 92% .

The grading scale at the school was raised to make the students work harder, and to make it hard for you to get an A in the first place. This is a redundence for the fact that if the school wants to make it harder for you to an A on your report card. To expect the students to try harder is an false assumption. The majority of the students are simply incapible to reach the overtly high expectations. Only 30 out of about 140 of the students that were on the A honor roll actually got a 4.0 GPA on the transcipts. If the petition is to go through then the amount of students with 4.0 GPA's would most likly go up 40-50%.
