Using Father Ted in a hateful manner that insults the beliefs of its creator is vile.

I was horrified that RTE could stoop so low in antisemitism as to boycott the eurovision because of Israel's involvement. But to replace it with Father Ted is a terrible insult.

anti-Semitism in all its forms is repugnant and dangerous. I stand with Graham Linehan and condemn your use of Father Ted episode in this was. Israel has the right to self determination and defence.

singing dancing & music are haram - so, RTE is a complete contradiction in terms because they’re defending a belief system that wouldn’t allow Eurovision to happen anyway

This is a disgrace. While Graham was cancelled for standing up for women, this act of petty symbolism honours people who deny the rape of women on October 7.

Throughout the last 2 and a half years I have seen this nation devolve into something I don’t even recognise anymore. But this process has not been entirely natural; supposedly unbiased institutions such as RTÉ are complicit in this process and should take accountability and apologise

I wholeheartedly support this petition. Whilst I am not Jewish, I am fair minded and free thinking and to see the Irish State Broadcaster conflate the politics of Israel with the faith of a minority community should be a national disgrace.
I'm not a fan of Eurovison, but its clear and stated aim of being non-policial has been clear for decades, To see a national broadcaster take a overtly political position of a non-political event, as a media organisation is frankly abhorrent.
I hope in the strongest terms that this disgraceful position is properly and fully investigated by the Irish state and minister for media and that a strong and clear message is sent that as a National Broadcaster, they have no right to either perpetuate anti-semitism or ensure that they pitch one community against another.
Please Ireland, dont blame all Jews for the equally abhorrent views of the Israeli Parliament, it is not the fault of ordinary, kind, hard-working decent Jews across Ireland and beyond. A Broadcaster should simply not be involved in Political posturing, ever. It should be up to individuals whether they want to watch any programme or not, not the Broadcaster. It does far more damage to Ireland taking this stand and tells people living elsewhere, like me, that Ireland is un-friendly, intollerant and frankly a dangerous place to live if you are from any minority. I had always believed the Irish people to be kind and welcoming, but this decision portrays a very different country to the one I thought I knew from across the Irish Sea.
Irish politicians must stop this, immediately and address a clear breach of broadcasting rules, regulations and ethics and deal with all forms of racism, wherever they are. Sadly in this case at the highest levels of the national Broadcaster.
