RTE's decision not to broadcast the Eurovision, and the reasons to do so are wrongheaded. And then to broadcast instead, the "A Song For Europe" episode from Father Ted where a song contest takes place, just makes it absurd. I won't list off all the reasons, so I'll add this small one. The Father Ted episode is 24 minutes long. The Eurovision usually takes four hours. Is RTE going to broadcast the Father Ted episode eight times? I wouldn't put it past them.
