Tricia Evelyn hit the nail on the head! The key word is "intends"! Come on, who can believe her? Quit already, NOW, will you? She's trying desperately to take the heat off, or save one of their salaries. They both are no good! Neither one have upheld PSU values! If they treated employees in a business like they have the gymnasts, they would have been fired with numerous lawsuits against them and the company. Why universities don't uphold the same type of rights, I do not understand. This needs to move forward whether Rachelle intends to resigns, or does resign. Someone should add up the money these two have cost gymnasts in counselors, anti depressants and tuition! Not to mention the permanent psychological damage they caused. They should be run out of town on a rail!

I have a family member that was coached by the Thompsons. She had a less than satisfactory experience, to say the least.

If you read rachelle's email it says she intends to resign on June 30th. They sre clearly trying to stop this process. This iapoears to be nothing more or less than attempted manipulation. I strongly suspect if things quiet down she won't follow through with her alleged intended resignation. She will have some grand story' that she changed her mind. If she is truly going to resign why isn't she tendering now as opposed to more than a month in the future. Don't be fooled. Don't think for a second Jeff isn't just as guilty as she is. As I understand it his abuse of the student-athletes was at least equal to her abusive behavior. They have always been a team.

The team needs to stand up and take action. Rachelle this evening sent out an email to the team notifying of her "resignation" this program wreaks of fowl play. Coaches are trying to jump ship before the NCAA can get a hold of them. According to NCAA bylaw 11.1.1.1 the Head coach is ultimately responsible for these types of allegations. So the focus now shifts to Jeff, who under his watch has watched his own recruits leave the team with things ranging from attempted suicide to severe eating disorders. The girls have leverage, of all institutions PSU should be the last one to ever have this sort of abuse. The NCAA is our only hope because obviously PSU has a track record of sweeping things under the rug...

As a former NCAA gymnast and current USAG coach to girls and young women, the stories about the Thompsons make me sick. Where there is smoke, there is fire, and PSU owes it to their athletes to investigate.

Sad situation. The Thompsons and PSU's Athletic Department must know what they are doing is wrong. If only a fraction of what has been reported is true, the PSU program needs a major overhaul.

Kick the coaching staff out and start from scratch with someone with class and honorable characteristics.

My heart goes out to all of the girls and staff that were abused by the Thompson's. I hope this story does hit the media to shine a light on how corrupt the PSU sports program is. The NCAA needs to come in and investigate. I hope Sandy Barbour doesn't let the Thompsons keep their office keys during the investigation though and have access into campus as they did before with Sandusky.
Shame on PSU and I hope all of the victims can recover mentally and physically.

Perhaps there are other universities that should be investigated as well. Amazing this problem is seemingly being swept under the rug. Very disappointing.

I have definitely heard about these coaches from my sister who had a daughter that was coached by them. An investigation is definitely needed immediately.

Please follow through with an investigation before the media strikes! We lost control of the Paterno fiasco because the BOT would not do a proper investigation!

PSU Administration ... do you see that you have current team members begging for help. Please DO THE RIGHT THING before something terrible happens to one of these girls. I implore you to make this stop. Desperate people do desperate things... don't let it come to that.
