As a former Pennsylvania and Nittany Lion fan, my heart breaks to hear that there is such a strong possibility that reports from women's gymnastic team members are true. Only a full investigation will bring transparency.

No one deserves to be degraded or debased for anything, let alone a sport!

Show these young women the support and respect they deserve, get to the bottom of this PSU, make us all Penn State proud by doing the right thing here and not standing for coaches who employ bullying, threats, shaming, etc. True leaders inspire, they don't lead by fear or intimidation.

Mother of former Auburn gymnast under the Thompson's. Mental & emotional abuse, manipulation and retaliation was a constant occurrence as well as making girls workout with serious injuries. No one should be subject to such treatment. PSU do the right thing.

These people have no concern for the young athletes they are coaching and need to be removed from coaching at Penn State.

Penn State still has serious problems with its athletics programs. Clearly they are once again denying instances of abuse. Shame on them.

Sounds all too familiar - it's happening at the high school level too.

These people need to stop wrecking peoples dreams. It would be like if someone came up to me and told me I was the worst musician ever. Except they did it every day alonmg with 200 others. I would get depressed.

This is 2016 not 1900. We don't treat animals this way.

Penn State blah, blah, blah. People are tired of rhetoric and PC statements trying to defend this institution. This student needs all of her tuition and costs covered and the coach needs to be fired. So do it.

As a former collegiate athlete, this must be stopped.

The Thompsons' behavior is both disgusting and criminal. Knowing how very little regard is given by Penn State, I would never encourage anyone in attending that university.

Stuff like this happens all the time and people get away with it. It's unacceptable and a proper investigation must be done.

As a former college athlete at WSU and now a high school counselor, people like the Thompson's should never be allowed to coach anywhere again. Students are a precious asset to the world and for these two selfish adults to ridicule their athletes is beyond comprehension. Fire them and let's see where their college education gets them. Do they even have degrees?

Jeff needs to be gone too! What they have done to these young women is despicable! How do they sleep at night knowing what a negative impact they have made on others' lives!?!?

When you have young athletes stating the abuse that a coach in any program is contributing to it needs to be addressed. Being PSU it appears the administration feels they are above the rest and are not thoroughly investigating the issues here. Hmmm almost sounds like another football story about to come out......
