Unfortunately it really isn't out of character. She has promoted really racist ideology for years and speaks out against trans individuals and members of the LGBTQI community. She is not an inclusive person and we should not be putting her on a pedastal or in positions of leadership.

Although Ina May has made some valuable past contributions to the birth community, she has failed to evolve. Her hateful comments about the LGBTQ community and POC serve to illustrate her total lack of understanding, empathy, or growth as a human being. She should be commended for her past contributions and be left in the past where she belongs. Her hate-filled beliefs have no place in the modern world of birth.

Ina May is a disgusting sexual predator. She lied numerous times about the abysmal mortality rates on the Farm, as well. She's truly uneducated and should not be held on a pedestal. ICAN also promotes negligent killer midwives and operates under the guise of "cesarean awareness" but are really against cesareans, even when medically necessary. They actively promote cherry picked data and have cheered on dangerous births where babies have died or injured in ways that were completely preventable. They all need to check their privilege and help the cause instead of spewing false racism.

Outrageous comments from Ina Mae Gaskin. How can people claim racism no longer exists and yet this is occurring.

This isn't horribly out of character. She's come across as a terf before and has made some medically unsound comments about circumcision. So this isn't the first time she said something out there.

There is no place for blatantly racist statements/figures/ideology in the birth community. Ina May Gaskin's comments are highly offensive and rooted in racism and "alternative facts".

Being committed to birth justice means being committed to black women. Unconditionally. Ina May better get herself educated or the next generation of midwives is gonna do it for her.

I cannot continue to support someone who's beliefs are so bltaty wrong and racist. Silence continues the violence against Black women and babies.
