Demand Hamas be prosecuted for war crimes in the ICC
Since seizing control of the Gaza Strip in June 2007, Hamas has plunged it into dire poverty and unrelenting despair, diverting aid money to corruption and violence.
Now, Hamas is trying to blame Israel for its failures. It has organized riots along the Gaza border and urged its population to infiltrate into Israel. They have called on the public to attack Israelis in their homes, and threatened to kidnap and murder as many as possible.
The IDF has been forced to respond with live fire. Armed Hamas terrorists have mixed with Gaza civilians and attacked from within the mobs, causing harm to innocent people. Their twisted strategy centers on causing civilian causalities and generating condemnations of Israel.
Hamas terrorists destroyed the public utilities on which the Gaza depends. It has encouraged youngsters to launch cross border arson attacks against Israeli farmers using flaming kites.
The riots are not a grassroots protest. Instead, the terrorist leadership minutely planned, financed and organized it. The violence starts and stops on its command.
Hamas’s action violate international law and are war crimes.
Shurat HaDin will respond to these war crimes by filing a communication with the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, demanding that she investigate the Hamas leadership.
