Many expenses related to the school overhead (power, water, AC, maintenance, cleaning, staff..etc) are not exist any more, as you know many of our companies now reducing salaries and other benefits.

The current situation needs schools to go reasonable with school fee . In good times everyone has made profits so everyone needs to take a hit . Time for gems to reduce their profit margins , will not harm them but will help families to cope up

Dubai American academy needs to relook into terms 3 fees. I am sure there is a cost saving given the kids are not using the school facility. Plus while yes we know every school is trying their best with online learning. But 90% if not 95% of the learning is through us the parents.

The fees you charged for the last 2 Terms were for use of all your facilities such as your swimming pool, sport facilities, your lab rooms, library, music studios, your air conditioning, your light, your water. Now I have to provide all these facilities to my three children you are now just providing online education so a discount should definitely be offered as the service has now changed.

I am not satisfied with an FS1 student of 3yrs old been supplied an online platform to learn from home. We have paid for child care and learning at school so us parents can be of childcare and work full time. I did not sign up to GEMS for an online platform and I would expect a 90% reduction in costs for this e learning experience. Arranging ‘google meet ups’ for parents and kids and teachers online is not a state of the art technology that Gems has been investing in to keep classmates in touch and not something Gems can substantiate as a fee for online learning.
Varkey has embarrassed Gems in the response to this pandemic and has handled this matter atrociously.
