The NFL's anti-tampering policy states, "Any public or private statement of interest, qualified or unqualified, in another club's player to that player's agent or representative, or to a member of the news media, is a violation of this Anti-Tampering Policy. (Example of a prohibited comment: 'He's an excellent player, and we'd very much like to have him if he were available, but another club holds his rights.') In addition, speculation by a club owner, executive, or employee on whether a player under contract to a second club may play for a third club in the future may negatively impact the relationship between the player and the club currently holding his rights. If comments are found to have adversely affected that relationship, a finding of tampering can result. All clubs should be aware that improper disclosure of confidential trade discussions with another club may be a violation of this section on prohibited public statements."
The owner of the N.Y. Jets has already been warned once for tampering this season. Woody Johnson admitted to tampering with Darrelle Revis during his press conference about the firings of his head coach and general manager. The fans of the NFL and New England Patriots DEMAND that Commissioner Goodell do his job and not only fine the N.Y. Jets for tampering, but also force the N.Y. Jets to swap first round picks with the Patriots for tampering an Elite Cornerback that is under contract with the New England Patriots.
If Commissioner Goodell does not do his job and punish the N.Y. Jets for tampering, then we the fans vote no confidence and ask for a new Commissioner that will enforce the rules and laws of the National Football League.

Woody Johnson has clearly tampered with the Patriots efforts to resign Revis. I would like to see the Patriots and Jets exchange 1st round picks.
no pathetic double standard like the jets 100k fine after spygate. The precedent has been set. if anything, the punishment nerds to be more severe given the flagrant and public nature of the infraction. also, Woody Johnson has already received a written warning regarding tampering earlier this season.

They must be held accountable. If Goodell ignores it then I would stop watching NFL football until Goodell is gone. I hate Goodell he is bad for the NFL because he seems biased for the Jets a team he used to work for, it's bad enough he tried to cover up for Ray Rice and lied about it. NY Jets need to be punished. Maybe they can forfeit their 1st round pick this year or something along the lines of that.

The rules regarding tampering are clear. Johnson publicly violated the rule in front of the press and many other witnesses. Punishment must be levied.

commissioner goodell should resign if he doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to enforce the anti-tampering rules. but i suspect his fear of incurring the wrath of the ny market and his fealty to that area will lead to no action on his part rendering the anti tampering rules unenforceable in the future.
