25% of the Oakland population identifies as Black. Oakland Black unemployment is 11% and Labor Force Participation is 35%. Entrepreneurship requires a marketplace. Several Black Entrepreneurs are vendors at Lake Merritt. Lake Merritt is a perfect location given specific guidelines including, masks, social distancing, security, time requirement and trash pick up. This petition requires the City of Oakland to provide an Open space or virtual space at no cost to City of Oakland Vendors from the Black population.
