SIGN THE PETITION TO DEMAND ASU DIVEST FROM JNF

The Israeli government, along with the aid of the Jewish National Fund, have been trying to expand settlements southward into the Naqab (Negev) desert for decades. Controlling 13 percent of land claimed by Israel, the JNF incentivizes settlers to come to the Naqab and build Jewish-only settlements. The settlements are necessarily "Jewish-only" by direction of the Israel Lands Authority, mandating it to be so. In the process of constructing these settlements, the JNF, with the aid of the Israeli government, forcibly displaces Palestinian Bedouins. Bedouin communities are routinely being bulldozed and their agricultural lands, that they have used for centuries, are being destroyed to force the Bedouin population to be dependent on Israeli aid. The JNF attempts to greenwash their acts of violent displacement by constantly highlighting the amount of trees they have planted and the green technologies that these settlements use.

Arizona State University directly invests in the JNF by providing the organization with grant money. This relationship is fueled by the ethnic cleansing of Palestinian Bedouins in the Naqab and overshadowed by the interests of the University that benefits from such a displacement, shrouded by the lens "progressive" developments in green technology. Climate issues will not be solved through the violent displacement of indigenous peoples. Sign the petition to demand ASU must divest from JNF.
