Well done for this, we cannot carry on with a lack of health service in the town. Agree with everything that has been said. So stressful & worrying. Been with JC for 18 years but long before covid and modality took over there has been a problem with how it is run and there appointment system. They were also the only practice that was still taken on new patients (stopped now) & I believe it is the smallest surgery with the least doctors there.

I’ve been registered at Judges Close for nearly 40 years and never had any problems until Modality took over. I have recently rung exactly at 8.30 for an emergency appointment and been number 3 in the queue, it has then taken 40 minutes for my call to be answered and then to be told that there are no appointments. How can it take 40 minutes if I am number 3 in the queue? And for there to be no appointments left?
Unfortunately, some people are unable to wait that long or longer on the phone due to their circumstances, work, family etc
I worry that elderly people would find it too difficult and worrying to try and get an appointment and would stop trying, resulting in illness and conditions being missed.
I have struggled to get a routine test booked, having to wait 2 months for it and then being sent to a surgery that wasn’t Judges Close.
If you manage to get through to the reception or are lucky enough to eventually get a telephone appointment then you find that the staff, nurses and doctors are helpful but overstretched.
The push doctor was great but appears to have been discontinued, why is this? If Modality are unable to provide a service themselves then they need to be looking for an alternative solution.
Obviously, the Modality systems aren’t fit for purpose.
If the non Modality surgery in East Grinstead can manage to give appointments, see patients and provide a good service then why can’t Modality?

Since modality took over the service is appalling. How can all appointments be taken in 10 minutes of the phone line opening

Been registered with Ship Street for over 4 years... never seen a doctor! It's a bit frightening seeing as I'm on regular medication yet have never been requested to see a doctor

I can never get an appointment. Always advise to either call back Wednesday, go to minor injuries Queen Victoria hospital or go to A&E Princess Royal

I feel that we don't actually have a doctor's surgery. You can physically point to it but that's about it

Crawley Down Health Centre (CDHC) has over several months referred me to the Queen Victoria minor injuries clinic; the Ship Street surgery and most recently the Leacroft Medical Practice in Langley Green. Each of these referrals was because there were no, or only distant, GP or Nurse appointments available.
A promised by CDHC a repeat blood test, booked for three months hence, never materialised.
Many people complain, including myself, that availability of GP and Nurse appointments is a significant and ongoing problem. These are, more than likely, EFFECTS of staff shortages and dubious business incentives.
I think that important questions determining the CAUSE of the problems need to be asked of Modality including:
How many GPs do they have? How many of these work full time? How many GP appointments, therefore, are available in a typical working week?
How many registered patients are being served by these appointments?

The fact that you can’t even get through on the phone is actually frightening. Nobody wants to be ill,but when you are you expect to be able to get a doctor s appointment. The hospitals are inundated with people who can’t get one. It’s all about money now, not our wellbeing

Directing 6 year old to Queen Victoria Hosp A &E for throat infection because same day appointments are not offered for over 5s is just one example of how this ‘service’ is not serving the community at all but also negatively impacting our local hospitals. Not fit for purpose.

Can't fault the actual gp's, but 3 weeks for a telephone appointment as a follow up to an x-ray , the results of which they sat on for 3 weeks without informing me they'd received them ...outrageous.

We need to be able to see a GP when we have a medical problem, it’s not good enough to be told to go to A&E for things that are not an Emergency, it’s putting East Surrey Hospital under so much strain. I don’t understand why are doctors who were available pre Modility are no longer available.
