Demand an end to reforming school hair colour code rules!

I had purple hair in the summer and because of the upcoming school year I had dyed it a red. When I had first entered into the school I had expected a semi-normal school year, (Despite covid-19 issues.) I was wrong. I had entered in and seen the dean of our school with bright turquoise streaks in her hair and when she had brightly colored hair she was explaining to me that I was not allowed to have brightly coloured hair. I believe that the administration shouldn't lead by the phrase "do as I say, not as I do." In previous years I have had the same struggles with hair colour rules, and I have been ignored. This year I am done with these insensible rules. I move that we change the hair colour rule so that we can have some form of expression in our school. With everything that is going on in 2020-21 it has added so much more stress and student-teacher tension. With taking this rule out for maybe even this year it would alleviate so much stress and tension. I believe that schools should be more involved with students forms of expression. If they deny this then some say that it is a violation of amendment 1 which states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." It would be so much better for everyone involved if the board were to vote yes on changing the rule. The students would love school so much more and the teachers would have some stress taken off there plate. Please sign this petition so that we can have change.
