Apart from the ghastly conditions these animals suffer enroute (thousands dying) one Australian animal welfare organisation alone documented horrendously cruel slaughtering illtreatment in 14 countries (whilst animals fully conscious), this despite many updated (subsequently breached) Australian procedures regarding overseas handling. They obtained many photos/videos of animals being whipped, eyes stabbed, one kicked, hit and shoved whilst still alive after its neck was half-severed, and another left to hang by its half-severed neck till it bled to death, these just a few of the disgusting treatments some animals had to endure (occasionally repeated purely for a photo op by the slaughterman). Many occurrences were watched by cheering, tormenting crowds.

All animals, two or four-legged, deserve respect and ethical treatment. There is no reason for those destined for human consumptionto be dealt with any differently
