IN FAVOR OF ACQ DEMO

Adam Carrigan and all of the rest of AFGE 1904 representatives have been completely ineffective the entire 8 years I've been with CECOM so this isn't surprising. They need to do what was voted for by the people they claim to represent. They have no right to do as they please and go against the vote.

If the majority voted for it, then that's what should happen. Think this would definitely be more beneficial than the alternative.

Where is more info from the Union and why aren't these decisions more transparent? Yes, many of us did read Adam's reasoning, and when we contacted him about it, asking questions he called us ignorant. We are only as informed as our Union makes us. For instance, Adam was very circumspect about the Executive Orders--many CECOM employees seem to think they are applicable only to ACQ DEMO, when the truth is that these EOs are THE LAW of our country now and will apply to ANY pay system. Regarding the timeline--have you ever had to pay a bill late? Then you know that you can miss a deadline but still get the thing done. Come on, we all know that missing a deadline is no reason to throw the deal out. There were literally 2 revisions asked for in the MOA, and they abide by what is current FEDERAL LAW. 2 revisions! And Adam states in his email that he knows the agreement has to abide by the law. There it is. You can't have it both ways--he knows that the MOA has to account for the content of those EOs. But this still doesn't answer the question--WHY is the Union not involving us and representing us properly? If the answer could have been found in Adam's correspondence or in any actions/memos from the Union, we wouldn't need this petition here and the nearly 200 signatures it has garnered, which is almost half of the people who voted in the election.

Your question is a good one, and speaks to what a lot of us signing this petition want to know. Where is more info from the Union and why aren't these decisions more transparent? Yes, many of us did read Adam's reasoning, and when we contacted him about it, asking questions he called us "ignorant." We are only as informed as our Union makes us. 2 revisions. And Adam states that the agreement has to abide by the law. There it is. You can't have it both ways--he knows that the MOA has to account for the content of those EOs. But this still doesn't answer your question--WHY is the Union not involving us and representing us properly? There is still no good answer. If you had found on in your reading of Adam's reasoning, you wouldn't be posting here.

I was hoping that once the vote was cast in favor of the AcqDemo everything would proceed smoothly.

I am ready to withdraw from the Union if we don't hear from our Union leader soon on this issue.

ACQ DEMO pay system should be agreed to because it is best for the employees.

I concur with this petition I thought the Union was supposed to act upon the majority rules. If we do not hear from our Union leader soon I am going to withdraw from the Union.

I am in favor the ACQ Demo HOWEVER I am not signing this petition at this time. Did anyone bother to read Adam's reasoning for withdrawling from the negotiations? He is looking out for our best interests and it revolves around the Executive Orders as well as the timeline for information being conveyed. I feel that these issues need to be addressed. Perhaps a meeting where we can all voice our opinions and concerns to Adam and the other officers. Wasn't there to be another vote regarding this subject?

I am going into this with the hope and belief that the Union used the Executive Orders as a reason to step back and take a breath to make before moving ahead with Acq-Demo, so I do not want to take an overly negative view of these actions. However, as more information comes out, the Union's decision loses credibility. I suggest we rejoin the negotiations immediately before it is too late and DP-MAP becomes the de-facto rating system. If the Union has valid concerns beyond those of the Executive Orders, I highly suggest they inform everyone else. The AFGE 1904 is speaking for NFFE and those who have chosen not to pay for representation even though we have voted overwhelmingly in favor of Acq-Demo makes me concerned about the leadership and future of bargaining units in the government sphere.
