Please allow a Public Hearing so those people most affected by the Sand Land Mine can have their opinions heard; one commerical entitiy should not be allowed to affect the lives and health of thousands of residents, along with the qualify of groundwater along the eastern south fork of Long Island. There needs to be transparency and two way communications in this situation. Let the people who who are impacted the most have a chance to speak.

It's despicable that changed the DEC there position on closing the mine and now are drinking water is in danger of further contamination!

How can the DEC grant an 8 year permit to a Mine that the Health Department cited for contaminating our groundwater? The DEC is ignoring the problem and we want to know why this is continuing.
