My son goes to TAG. We are a very involved group of parents and id hate to not be able to have a say in whats happening with my sons education. Im sure many people in this program feel the same

Removing G&T programs is NOT the solution. We should instead expand it and create more G&T schools across districts.

At the February PEP meeting, the Deputy Mayor promised the G&T stakeholders a "listening tour" last Spring. This never came to pass. However, the PEP, and now this administration seem to be poised to reimagine our childrens' schools and programs without meaningfully engaging with the G&T stakeholder community. Many G&T stakeholder families would welcome the opoprtunity to share constructive ideas about how the programs could be reimagined to be more inclusive, and also share what we value in the programs. What stakeholders value in the G&T programs are rarely, if ever, reflected in the assumptions made by the opponents of G&T programs. The opponents have been heard, but the public school families who depend on these programs have not been heard. The administration would not make sweeping changes affecting other constituencies without thoroughly consulting the stakeholders, and the administration owes the public school families in G&T programs the same engagement, just as we were promised.

G&T programs should be expanded not cancelled. These programs are highly successful and are only being targeted to distract from the Mayor and DOE's failure to fix underperforming schools and help the kids who are falling behind.
