I'm sorry but I fail to see how you all believe that it is his choice? The way you have explained this is that Deltea is a minor and therefore in the eyes of the law, is incapable of making his own decisions? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he cannot pursue this, but at the end of the day, his parents are the ones in charge, they are his legal guardians and therefore they have the final say until he is of the age where in the confines of the law he is allowed to make his own decisions. He is a teenager, he doesn't have a career yet, he just plays a video game and records it and believes he now has the ability to financially support himself throughout life? His parents may think it is a dumb idea and that's just because they didn't grow up with this kind of technology, but at the end of the day they are your parents and there is no way this petition or any other form of litigation will make them think that 100 strangers on the internet know how to raise their son better than them.

With the way the world is nowadays, I don't think it's all that hard to set up an online career as long as you put in the effort. Let your parents know that you are willing to put in the effort as they would expect in anything else - and don't just say that, PROVE it to them. Hopefully your parents will support you through this; but you gotta be sure to keep your end of the bargain. Let your parents read this and know that you're not alone. If you're lazy and don't put in little to any effort however, you should give up. Prove everyone wrong. You got this buddy; you have my support.

The fact that the older generations cannot accept the internet for its potential and what it can be is one of the many reasons why we can't have a progressive society, as the internet does not enclose just lines of code, but people's lives and experiences, expertise and services, opinions and insights, If it is their son's wish to attempt to make a career on the internet, they should not only be supportive but understand that the world is changing faster than ever. I wish you luck with your streams, business, etc. After all, I'm sure they had equally ambitious ideas when they were younger.
Restricting a child's opportunities to in most-all fields is just a sheer disregard towards their identity. Deltea is someone with a personality and conscience, able to make his own decisions. I haven't known him long but I would say the same for anyone out there. Besides, he's got plenty of years ahead of him if this whole thing doesn't work out. One failure is not game over.

If you have a look at his profiles (steam/twitch/YouTube) he is 17. Also he has face cam on twitch too showing his age.

One more thing though, remember to find that balance between an education and part-time work and what you want to do. It is always good to have a backup just in case and if you can find a way to do what you enjoy and also further your education at the same time, I see no reason for your parents to stop you.

It IS possible, though you should always have a backup.
Find work, full-time/part-time/casual and in your spare time do your online career until it picks up enough to cover you financially.
Up to you to handle that balance.

Listen, I understand that this kid has a passion, and he wants to do something with his abilities. However, he's 12. He's still in school and has so much ahead of him. Online streaming, moderating and designing is NOT a steady source of income, The demand for these jobs are extremely low, and there are thousands of people who want to do the same thing as him. And plus, since he's at such a young age, where do you think he will be in 20-30 years without an education?
