Egypt has asked YouTube to remove a video of a woman being sexually assaulted in Tahrir Square during a rally supporting the country's newly elected president.

YouTube has removed copies of the video in which the woman can be identified, but is allowing other versions that blur her image to remain on the site because the company considers them to be newsworthy. Viewers who want to watch the blurred video also must vouch that they are at least 18 years old, according to YouTube.

"We respect an individual's right to privacy and have always removed videos entirely where there is a privacy complaint and an individual is clearly identifiable," YouTube said in a statement.

In a video of a visit of the president of Egypt to the woman, the woman told the president: "My daughter watches it every day and collapses." She requested to El-Sisi himself that he'd ask Youtube to remove the video.

Help us raise enough awareness of this cause. Let's remove all the videos. Blurred or not. This incident is a gruesome one. Let the poor woman have whatever dignity she has left. The woman is still scared for her life.

As a Muslim woman, we are obliged by our religion to cover up all of our body reveling only the face and hands. The video, blurred or not, shows her body. I, myself, would be ashamed of this. Isn't enough what she's already been through, now she has people looking at something she has hidden for her entire life? We are taught that if someone see's your body it's a bad thing, so you cover it up for your whole life. Imagine, suddenly having MEN, (not even one person, but a group of them,) stealing it, breaking it and showing it to the world, well we can only imagine the mental state she is in right now.

And as for the 18+ comment, how does that help? That just means that men and women who have an ACCOUNT over 18 can watch that disgraceful day. Respect her by at least giving her her privacy and dignity.

She's been through enough, she doesn't need the constant reminder and shame. Sign this petition. Help us help this woman.

This is completely sick. Why is youtube keeping this up for clicks? Its humiliating for the victim and her family. Take it down already.
