Please let us play! I am a freshman I have never played softball before and my coaches gave me the chance to be on the team and to learn and I can't do that as well without being able to be out on the field with my team and playing.

I believe that we’d be depriving kids of a chance to make memories and learn lessons in this sports setting that they wouldn’t be able to learn anywhere else.

Please let them play. My son is a senior and is depressed about all that is happening or should I say not happening his senior year. I’m honestly worried about his well being. Playing soccer would be a game changer for him and his mental state. Please, please reconsider! Thanks!

Let them play. You work your whole life for varsity sports. And it’s usually for most kids the last time they will ever play at a competitive level. Taking away a lifetime of experience and memories.

Early on policy decisions were made in an environment of panic, fear, and uncertainty regarding the mortality rate and infection rate of covid19. Models of the death and carnage were predicting massive deaths across the country. As more information has come out, and as the reality on the ground in our state has shown, Covid19 is of no greater danger to our student athlete population than other infectious respiratory illnesses. I strongly urge you to reverse the decision to cancel spring sports and instead allow these thousands of student athletes the opportunity to compete and play their sports. Consider their mental and physical health in this. These sports are outdoors, these kids are healthy, if they did have infection at any point, they have been isolated for over 5 weeks therefore the incubation period and infectious period of 14 days are well behind them. Do the right thing and allow these kids to resume play. I also ask you all to take a stand right now for the fall sports, football in particular, to be played. Utah is not New York, Chicago, New Orleans, LA. Those places are overpopulated, all over each other in public transportation, living conditions are extremely dense, etc. you guys know this. Please do the right thing for our kids. Let em play! Thank you, Wes Patterson

There are ways that this can be done for outdoor sports, while still practicing good hygiene and having spectators maintain social distancing.
