I understand we may not be able to play until the end of the school year. But this shouldn’t stop us from having a season, even if that means it is short.

There needs to be something, My daughter is the only senior on her softball team, my husband is also the coach. They were looking forward to this last season together and as it stands now they will never get that time together back!

There should absolutely be at least some sort of season or tournament. I coach morgan high soccer and we have 9 seniors that have been working their entire lives for the chance to compete for a state championship! Please let them play!

Hi, I’m a softball player at Salem hills high school. Not playing this year has been super hard :( I want to play one last time, to have some closure!! I know it’s very hard with the corona to make the decision, but I know there’s golf courses opened, state parks, etc. Please let us play!!!

These kids work hard and should be allowed to play. Feel free to implement social distancing and other restrictions, but please let the season go forward.

With current recommendations and plans to loosen restrictions, spring sports should be allowed to play at some degree. I have a senior at Farmington HS who is looking for opportunities to play baseball at the next level and this will absolutely hamper this for him and form many, many other senior athletes. We have spoken with many medical providers, including our own physicians, and they back up the claims that outside sporting events at this level SHOULD absolutely be allowed and pose little to no risk to the population if common sense measures are taken. Please allow these spring sport athletes the opportunity to play at least part of a season to end their HS careers with some sort of normalcy.

Give all of these great young men and women a chance to play. We always teach youth that hard work pays off. I believe that giving them a chance to compete is a great example of this, no matter what the date is on the calendar. Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do!

As a former baseball player of Brighton High School, these kids deserve and need to play. All they really know and love is sports. This is also making school easier for spring student athletes. With no sports going on to distract focus, I’m sure better grades will be a result. I could imagine being a senior and having my season taken from me. As long as COVID flattens, and keeps declining, you should put a limit on fans and no sitting immediately next to one another.

The sun kills the virus very quickly! Outdoor sports is a great option. No reason you can’t do track at least. Baseball seems pretty harmless too!

What a great idea for all seniors who don’t have another year or two to play sports. Would mean so much to them.

Don’t take the easy way out. Issue guidelines to follow. It won’t be difficult to continue spring sports and exercise keeps the kids healthy

Cancelation of Spring sports means many high school Seniors lost their last opportunity to fight for a roster spot with a university. This is especially true of those who suffered an injury last year and already missed their Junior year of competition. It's heartbreaking!
