Delay SWSD Proposed Redistricting Plan--West Manheim to Park Hills

I'm signing this petition even though I don't have children in our school system. I believe it's crucial to prioritize our community's well-being and invest in our local schools. The proposed redistricting plan falls short in many ways. It's an inadequate solution that lacks long-term planning, and it could cause significant disruptions for families. Also, it really doesn't address the root causes of overcrowding and infrastructure issues. By supporting this petition, I'm standing up for: Community investment, property values, social responsibility and civic engagement I urge the school district to hit the pause button on this proposal and conduct a thorough Feasibility Study. Delaying the plan could lead to extensive changes that would better serve our community, Let's work together to create a better learning environment for all students in our district.

Keep our children and grandchildren in their school

Better than the bandaid idea of quick redistricting.

It is unfair to uproot an existing student in that school system without regards to what the child may be experiencing? If you need to redistrict someone you should be redistricting the new developments, not the ones that are currently enrolled within your school for the last several years. I feel this causes unnecessary Emotional stress on our little one ones to take them away from what they've become familiar with and the friends that they have made.

Don’t moved the kids that have been going to WM. Move the kids that are the NEWCOMERS. It was bad planning with the development of new homes and townhouses being built in Hanover. NOT FARE TO THE KIDS ALREADY OUR SCHOOLS.

No to redistricting. Not fair to our kids plus when you spend several hundred thousand for a house in a certain school district and have that removed from you is simply wrong.

Don't move kids from neighborhoods that have always been going to WM. Move the kids that are in all the new housing and apartments on Pumping Station Rd. They just got to WM. The kids you propose moving have been going to WM for years.

Quit building developments!! Leave the woods and lands be! Then we won’t have these problems!

The SWSD must focus on the bigger issue of the continuous development of new residential areas within the District. Redistricting 65 already-established elementary children is a small puddle in an ocean of a problem. The proposed move will only relocate the overcrowding from one school to another. Inevitably, as new homes continue to be built in the same area, 65 more kids will enroll in West Manheim, and then another 65, and so on. Where will all of the kids go then? The supply and demand of childcare is a real Issue, so parents have already secured childcare spots for the 2024-2025 year for those children that will be forced to move schools. In addition, transportation arrangements will have to be adjusted for those kids who may not ride buses. Will the District provide support to the families who will be affected by this last-minute proposal? If not, the proposal should be delayed and reconsidered. The bigger issue of population versus infrastructure needs to be addressed, a band-aid will not cure this.

It's illogical to uproot that many kids for poor planning. It inconveniences the families that need to be close to their schools. It's probably one reason they purchased in the area initially.

I am against moving the students from West Manheim.

Do not relocate our children’s school district

We purchased this house specifically for the schools in 2021. Our kids will be starting kindergarten in 2025 and 2028.
