Delaney and Bonnie are way overdue for induction in the hall...they were pioneering writers and performers and influenced many many performers that followed as well as performers of their time...do them and the hall some justice and induct these legendary musicians

A year before "Layla", Eric Clapton and his band that became known as Derek & The Dominos were the backbone of Delaney & Bonnie and Friends. And in between, they all formed the backbone of players for George Harrison's celebrated tripple album, "All Things Must Pass". Meanwhile, Leon Russell, who was himself overlooked until championed by another prominent celebrity, built his own bridge to from little known session player to ringleader for Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs & Englishmen Tour and solo stardom in the sevenities from the platform of his recording and touirng experience with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends. And then there's The Carpenter's cover of "Superstar" and a host of subsequent other musical influences still in evidence today. Just how Delaney & Bonnie have been remained unacknowledged for so long remains baffling in the extreme.

D&B's legacy and contribution to music goes well beyond their own recordings and performances; it is demonstrated by the composers, players and singers THEY influenced, and continue to influence.

These two jewels inspired so many. Theirs and those they inspired still bring me great joy through their incredible music.

I saw D&B in June 1971, fresh out of college, and said 'That's what I wanna do!' 40 years later, I'm still playing rock and roll. Delaney and Bonnie almost single handedly changed my life for the better.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Delaney one to one and watch as he played guitar and sang. When I was on stage with him, he was amazing but by himself, he was purely and simply MAGIC!!! So proud to have known him.
