It is so sad that such an important piece of public art has been treated with disrespect, and, if I may add, utter disdain, by DBKL. Even more regrettable is the "reasoning" from the FT Minister in retrospect.
While the damage done to this historical art monument is irreparable, I sincerely hope that this tragedy becomes an impetus for all concerned authorities to EDUCATE THEMSELVES about the importance of the arts, in this case visual art, to society at large.
More can be done to further the arts in Malaysia, but there must be a will to do so. The arts are a reflection of how civilized a particular society is, and in light of the recent demolition of an historical art monument, it is clear that Malaysia has a long way to go if it wants to be the best amongst nations.

Kerajaan sepatutnya mengekalkan binaan seni yang masih ada sebagai simbol negara ini juga lantas generasi akan dtg dpt melihat tinggalan sejarah malaysia.walaupun kemodenan dunia dikejar, jangan lupa yang lama itu berjasa.
