We, the undersigned residents of Ramat Beit Shemesh Aleph, hereby demand that drastic and immediate improvements be made to the local Beit Shemesh police force to effectively put an end to the ongoing spree of home invasions and robberies which have plagued our community for far too long. We are extremely frustrated and angered by the glaring incompetence routinely demonstrated by the local police in failing to track down perpetrators, and in the inexcusably low number of arrests yielded from their efforts. The quality of life in our wonderful city has been negatively impacted by these crimes, which occur almost nightly. The presence of the police is not at all felt in our community; there are no noticeable patrols on our streets, and the robbers continue undeterred to strike at our homes, pillage our property and undermine our general safety. We are turning to all public bodies with authority over this matter, including the Mayor and other local city government officials, the Police Commissioner, and to the Minister of Public Security (who bears overall responsibility for the police in Beit Shemesh), to act decisively – now – to once and for all effectively resolve this untenable situation.
