Dear Mr. President, We, the undersigned, call upon you to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America in accordance with your oath as President by using the full force and authority of your office to protect the constitutional rights of Occupy protesters to peaceable assembly and free speech and that you protect the protesters themselves from brutality and suppression by taking the following actions: 1. Clearly and unequivocally affirm the rights of ALL Americans to peaceable assembly and free speech as these rights are constitutional and may not be superseded by local statute or park ordinance and that violations of these rights will not be tolerated. 2. Authorize the Justice Department to investigate and prosecute violations of these rights and instances of brutality and suppression. 3. Call upon Congress, state and local elected officials, law enforcement and the American public to remember and honor the fundamental liberties that our country was founded upon and the importance of dissent in a free society.
