As a Greek, and as an American citizen, I am ashamed that an American court would deprive a father his basic constitutional rights. This is anti American. I stand by Antoni, and support his God given right to raise his daughter lovingly, and to teach her faith.

It is in the interests of the child to be loved and supported by both parents and likewise to love and respect both her parents. Refusing to allow her to identify with her Greek heritage, which she wishes to do, is child abuse.

If what is written is accurate, then it does indeed sound like a gross injustice. I would contact the ACLU since it would fall under their purview. May justice prevail.

This just sounds like a mom who is competing with her ex husband for her child's attention/control. Greek Orthodoxy influences people to be the BEST people that they can possibly be. The current USA is fortunate to have spiritually grounded Greek citizens. And as much faith as I have in the justice system, it's these injustices that are most disappointing...

Why should an Orthodox Christian be treated differently than someone who is Catholic or Protestant or any other person of Christian faith? If it were anything other than Orthodoxy the case would be ruled out and the person would live their normal life with their child. This ruling is cruel and unjust by several means.

The matter of Judge Anna E. Worley's decision on the case involving Antonios Hondroulis and his 7-year old daughter, Mary. It does appear that there is strong bias toward something (toward his faith or gender - or something else) and this remains to be seen. I say this after reading the following statements regarding the case - "Judge Worley believes that despite the fact that the child herself wishes to wear a cross and prefers chickpeas over chicken during Lent, Antonios has been wrongfully teaching her these practices and accuses him of brainwashing." and "Antonios has pleaded for his chance to be heard, but to no avail. Not a single witness on behalf of Antonios was allowed to take the stand in his defense." and "A quick Google search of her name produces results of Facebook groups dedicated to exposing her crooked practices, petitions to impeach her, and Father’s Rights groups demanding fair and just rulings in the future. This woman is well versed in the art of biased rulings." After Googling this judge's name myself - it appears that it would be more than negligent to not investigate her ruling against this man (and perhaps others as well). There are so many suspicions that should raise the state's concern for her ability to judge fairly - an investigation more than warranted. It would be in the best interest of both kids and parents to at least find conclusive evidence whether this judge is truly competent and unbiased in her decision making - as the law requires her to do so - and especially so in a position of such power.

If it is a case of religious as well as ethnic origin discrimination, there are laws in this country against it. Get AHEPA involved. Historically that was their function. Good luck.

Both parents should respect each other's ethnic backgrounds and religious backgrounds as their child shares both and will follow their own path one day anyway.

Antonios Hondroulis is the kind of father any child would be lucky to have. His devotion to his child and faith are a testament to this. It breaks my heart to hear that he is being denied parental rights and is risking jail time for being a good Christian.
