The neighborhood surrounding Brooklyn College is not safe. On February 5th, a woman was raped near campus. On September 27, 2011, a youth was shot outside of the McDonald's. Undoubtedly, there are countless other incidences, large and small, that endanger our safety. If there is a large enough demand, I will hold regular self defense classes on campus. These will be geared toward practical application and for novices, those without any martial arts experience and those in any physical shape. My credentials include 10 years of training, a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, and 5 years of teaching the art to NYC colleges. My students have used the techniques they learned to defend themselves in Far Rockaway, Flatbush Avenue, and City Hall.
