Diwali, also called Deepavali, is a major Indian festival that is very significant in Hinduism. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolizes the victory of good over evil, and lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for humankind. Celebrations focus on lights and lamps, particularly traditional dīpa or deeya (earthen lamp, as illustrated). Fireworks are associated with the festival. Some cities has banned fireworks. This petition is for those city administration to reconsider their ban on fireworks during the Deepavali celebration and allow Hindu community to enjoy their festival. For more details about Diwali festival please read the following artical at internet link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diwali If city administration allows fireworks for other celebrations during the year then it is a discrimination against the Hindu community. If you believe city administration must allow Hindu community to celebrate Diwali with safe firecrackers please sign this petition. Also any person from Hindu community would like to use this petition to approach the city administration for approval of safe fireworks then please do so.
