Not only do we believe that teachers and administrators should be educated on the subject but each district should have a reading specialist on site who is trained to work with struggling students. Have all districts complied and what is their action plan for different learners. Do they provide the latest multi sensory reading programs, are they trained to identify struggling readers...

Please hold schools accountable in authentically helping students who struggle with dyslexia. The four key areas indicated by Decoding Dyslexia are an excellent starting point! Too many students are graduating functionally illiterate because the school system is failing to legitimately address this.

Texas and other states have great Dyslexic programs. Some districts have OG/Wilson programs, so this should be all across the state not just certain school districts.

My daughter was just diagnosed in 7th grade outside the school system. She is now in 8th grade and will be going to public High School. How I wish there was a program for her to keep her from frustration.

My son is struggling with this since he was very young, I am so happy we can now at least say "dyslexia" when discussing ways to improve his learning in school, we have alot of work to do, but we are on the road!

I strongly agree!!!! New Jersey is extremely behind. If we don't mandate these important steps for students with Dyslexia it won't happen. I am a parent and a person with Dyslexia and know first hand how important it is for New Jersey schools to intervene early for these students. It is also important to provide them with the tools (AT) students with Dyslexia need. This is the only way these students can keep up without falling behind their peers.

The total learning Center neptune, nj. 732 922 6655. I wish I started there! Any district that has the Wilson reading program and certified level 1 & 2 specialists

I am new to the US and New Jersey. My 7 year old boy has signs of Dyslexia. School is complaining of his reading and writing issues. I would like to get him tested, Can someone suggest a good center where i can go? Also, please suggest few schools which supports children with special needs and encourage them to build their creativity in learning. I am very unhappy with Jersey City public schools!

This is a huge concern for me as my son has been recently diagnosed with Dyslexia. I am having difficulty getting the school to accept his diagnosis and proceed with the correct intervention. This mandate would help a lot!
These children will grow as learners and feel so much better about themselves with the proper intervention.
