16 y.o. vote? For what? Few, if any, 16 year old boys and girls are able to conceive notions beyond their cell phones, their homework assignments, and most likely their next move circumventing parental authority, just to name a few.
This "voting" issue is just another attempt by the Left to have absolute power. NO VOTE FOR 16 Y.O. children!

What lunacy these supposed representatives of the VT citizens come up with instead of dealing with the important issues of the state. Why don't they deal with the constant, continuing problem of Burlington and other cities and towns dumping millions of gallons of wastewater into our beautiful waterways and Lake Champlain. Why don't they deal with the financial problems and control spending within the reasonable limits of our people to pay taxes. What about the out of control school budgets which rise disproportionately in spite of the decline in the number of students? Most of these liberals live in dream land coming up with all sorts of impractical and often unenforceable laws that will ultimately make VT an impractical place to live.

Sixteen year old kids are not even dry behind the ears yet and with the indoctrination from the schools it is extremely scary to allow them to vote. Many do not even know the correct history of this country never mind the knowledge of the constitution!

Why stop at 16? Why not 12, or 8?
Should all legal voters be able to serve in the military? How about gun ownership? If they are mature enough to vote, should they be allowed to drink alcohol or smoke cannibus? This is an example of refusal to be a responsible parent. Hey, if kids are voting, why not give them their portion of the annual family budget and let them manage it? Absurd that this is even a possibility. “Power to the people! Ummmm... wait... children” With all the real issues to contend with, this is what our representatives choose to bring forward? God help us.

Some years ago, the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18 to allow those young people being sent to fight in Vietnam to have a voice in their government. That made sense. 16 and 17 year olds do not have the maturity or life experience to understand the far reaching consequences of their decisions. This is really about the liberal loonies ensuring their own reelection by giving the vote to those who still believe in a free ride.
