If they deserve the protection of minority law the must be too immature to make the law.

The voting age should stay at 18. That is a fair average age of maturity to truly understand and participate.

Having raised 3 amazing daughters, I know that 16 year olds are just beginning to separate from their parents. By giving 16 year olds a vote, when they are not yet on their own fully, you are inviting more votes for parental perspective (whatever that is). Do not bring the vote down to 16. This age group is still in the throws of peer pressure, social norming, etc and not ready for voting for candidates based on their own thinking/research. It is not developmentally appropriate. Keep the age for voting 18 and up.

Dropping voting standards is as transparent as targeting children with tobacco ads was in its heyday. The criminal mindset knows they are vulnerable and target them with corporatized communist drivel to usurp our rights and independence.

The legal age hasn't changed, why should the voting age change?

Old enough to vote = old enough for selective service/draft registration, old enough to be tried for their actions , and sentenced as an adult with full public access, no politically selected curtains to hide behind/seek shelter, No political safe harbors for crimes & misdemeanors, no more nanny state of VT to hide behind.

Voting is a responsibility, not a priveledge. It is for the informed, the motivated, the responsible, for every thinking citizen. It is not to be treated the same as welfare for all.

This is a disgrace. Age 16 is not an adult, voting is an adult responsibility. Please do not pass this bill.
