We request the Manatee County Board of Commissioners to petition President Barack Obama to exercise his executive privilege and classify the sea grass and mangrove area of Sarasota Bay west of Long Bar Pointe as a national preserve and/or a "Contributing Property" to the National Registered Historical District, the Village of Cortez.

The momentum behind this push is finally forcing the Manatee County Board of Commissioners to pay attention. They thought we would stay quiet while they paved over our bay but they were wrong. Lean in harder because we are not stopping until they listen.

Keep the water clean and protect the mangroves. We have enough condos already.
stop the overdevelopment before there is nothing left
The local wildlife depend on this habitat. It is reckless to destroy it for more pavement.
This area is so beautiful i grew up paddling out there and we need to keep it natural for the next generation
PLEASE SAVE OUR BAY. Once the seagrass is gone it doesnt come back.
We cannot underestimate how vital these seagrass beds are.
