Born and raised on the Calfornia coast, I have been far away from my Polynesian roots and history. I have recently had the opportunity to learn and discover the current situation, and I have been saddened by what has happened for all this time. It should not be difficult to recognize a wrong that has been down after all of this time and resistence, taking advantage of their lack of funding and media coverage as an advantage to ignore them partly or wholly - just because no one else knows about it to hold the wrong-doers accountable. It is easier said than done - but it does not take the education of an astrophysicist to understand that an occupied nation that has fought for generations against annexation, statehood, and federal recognition should be listend to. It is a shame our voices are muffled because of the monetary and military interests of others and the large amount of investments that have been put into them. Perhaps they shouldnt have invested so much on land that wasn't another's to give to them. I suppose we cannot blame those who were ignorant, but we cannot let that justify what has happened. Keiki O Ka Aina, Stand Strong

I am and have been since birth a national of the Kingdom of Hawaii. I continue the efforts of my kupuna who signed the Ku'e petition to protest the illegal occupation of the United States in Hawaii nei. It is our inherent right to restore our Kingdom of Hawaii to our lahui, which represents the majority of indigenous natives that will determine the destiny of our beloved aina and future generations. Not a group or organized effort that repeats the same wrong as the Republic of Hawaii who were decedent's of missionaries, wolves cloaked as sheep who murdered our people because of their efforts to protest the Republic of Hawaii.

I stand for and with my kupuna, and all of the kanaka maoli that were recognized as a nation in 1843 in the multi-ethnic Kingdom of Hawai'i. I stand for my right as an independent citizen of the Kingdom of Hawai'i and against the false claims that Na'i Aupuni is the voice of the Kanaka Maoli people.

Na'i aupuni no can! Their constitution is a sham and they do not have the kako'o of the kanaka Maoli community.
