In the wake of current events, it is time that the leaders and supporters of the Democratic Party make a statement of unification. We must show our supporters and disaffected voters that we are not the party of corporations, the political elite, wealthy, and military industrial complex. We need our constituents to know that Democrats don’t only want their votes, but that we want to solve their problems.

Throughout the past decade, our party had material successes, but the people demand more of us. They demand we apologize and accept our failures of the past. The people are magnanimous and when given the opportunity to forgive, they will. We must show the people we accept we failed to protect their jobs, health, savings, and trust from extreme political elements. Forgiveness is the first step to bringing the resistance together, but if we seek their full support—not only to protest but voting and walking precincts.—we need to reform the party.

This moment in time requires that we express our full commitment to the people, that we confine our faith in them to gain their trust in us. Therefore, we must seek to unify the party with a proclamation of reformation of Democratic Party.

Historically, Democrats have always been the party of the common person; the hourly worker, laborer, and anyone who depends on an employer to make income. The party has always found a way to bring people together, and hold the corrupt and powerful accountable to the people. In war, we defeated a horrible dictator to end the genocide of people for religious reasons, ethnic, ideological, and sexual-orientation. On poverty, we helped to end the steepest economic decline in our country’s history and in turn great programs were created providing social services, jobs, and innovative industries helping the people to thrive. On labor, we worked with unions and funded projects that created the largest middle-class in world history. Which helped us become the world’s only standing superpower. On social justice, we created civil and voting rights laws providing more equity to the disenfranchised. Now we need to take that same spirit but go further.

We ask the California Democratic Party take the first step to reform the National Democratic Party, and we stand strong to our true beliefs as the left, liberal, progressive, and omnist beacon of the world. Left because we support equality of all forms; political, economic, social and civil rights. Liberal because we are open to new behaviors, opinions, or cultures and we are willing to discard traditional values to make space for new ones. Progressive because we favor and hope to implement social reforms and new, liberal, ideas. We are omnist because we recognize and respect all religions and beliefs. That is what should truly define the Democratic Party.

Once you have committed yourself to this pact, we will commit ourselves to you. We will commit to the party and idea that we can change our situation. We will commit our passion and energy to the success and continually growth of our shared value of the American Dream. In turn, those currently in leadership will be remembered in history as choosing to do what was right for the people and their legacies will be remembered by generations to come.

This proclamation is the embodiment of the dreams and beliefs of the underdog and broken warrior—the voice of the disadvantaged and underprivileged. This document leaves your signature to the unification of the Democratic Party and the American Left. Your signature upon this document will signify the creation of historic progress and the transformation of our society to become more open and tolerant, free and productive, educated and liberated. With your signature you promise to uphold the burden of the people, and to be one stone of many to be the unification of the left and to create a truce which will lead to the greatest victory in the history of our country and, maybe, the world. Do this not because it is easy, but because it is hard. Just as it is hard to live in a society in which the common person cannot truly thrive, and if we fail to protect those people then we fail the test of Democracy itself. Thus we ask that you pledge your adherence to the principles below.

We ask all Democratic officials, volunteers, and party associates pledge to the following:

WE ASK THAT YOU ACCEPT that full-comprehensive healthcare is a right of all humans from birth to death.

WE ASK THAT YOU ACCEPT that educational resources be provided as a right of all humans from birth to death and that the education be of the standard which can be accepted by any reasonable person’s observation.

WE ASK THAT YOU ACCEPT that is a right of all humans to be supplied with jobs that provide a livable wage—one that pays at a rate in which housing, bills, and debt are no more than 50% of their income.

WE ASK THAT YOU ACCEPT that all people be provided with affordable and quality housing as a right.

WE ASK THAT YOU FIGHT for the right for women to make their own choices in regard to reproduction.

WE ASK THAT YOU FIGHT for women’s civil rights and protection against sexual decimation and misogyny.

WE ASK THAT YOU FIGHT to hold the justice system to the highest standard to ensure equal prosecution to all who stand before the law. That the justice system reflects an objective process where ethnicity, social status, and ideology play no role in any and every case put before it.

WE ASK THAT YOU FIGHT for those who are new to our country, immigrants and refugees, and help them find a home here in the United States.

WE ASK THAT YOU FIGHT for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and plus communities.

WE ASK THAT YOU WORK to keep communities safe and prosperous.

WE ASK THAT YOU WORK to invest in our families and the future of all children.

WE ASK THAT YOU ENSURE that those who are economically disadvantaged will always be provided with a level of support which allows the economy to grow on all levels of the income scale and included them in all economic plans and investments.

WE ASK THAT YOU AGREE that public or affordable transportation is provided to all of the people.

WE ASK THAT YOU AGREE to provide more resources for those with mental and physical impairments so they can live quality lives.

WE ASK THAT YOU AGREE to reduce the tax burden on working families and individuals.

WE ASK THAT YOU HELP to provide capital to all businesses large and small, and equity to all workers under corporations and private companies.

WE ASK THAT YOU HELP unleash the technological power and innovation of our scientist and engineers to solve the problems that ill our planet and society—educating, health, voting, transportation, and provide internet access to all people.

WE ASK THAT YOU AGREE to the elimination of PACs and Corporate money from the political campaigning process and pursue a system of individual donations and publicly financed campaigns—still allowing political organizations to raise funds, but with full-transparency.

WE ASK THAT YOU STOP pushing away third parties—if liberal, progressive, or centrist—and independent candidates and groups and instead adopt a policy of allowing them to caucus with us in the legislator.

WE ASK THAT YOU DIRECTLY ADDRESS the division in our party by holding meetings with your Democratic and, or, reasonable, primary opponents—holding semi-annual or quarterly meetings with them as the leader of their supports and voters.

WE ASK THAT YOU PROMISE to protect the environment and all the creatures within it.

WE ASK THAT YOU BE A TRUE left, liberal, progressive, and passionate patriot for the people.
