The Canada Games Pool was built in 1973 and has been a legacy in New Westminster serving both the public and competitive swimmers alike. City Council want to replace the current pool with a $100 million pool and recreation center that will severely limit competitive swimming (meaning no swim meets) and prevent Canada Games Pool from increasing public lap/lane swimming and lessons. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN prior to the election. Don't let an outgoing council make this decision. A capital expenditure of this magnitude requires proper public debate. By signing this petition you can help make this an election issue.
