Decertification - Simply put is the transfer of a minor from adult court to juvenile court. The judge must assess if that transfer will serve the public interest. Please sign this petition in support of Cordell’s decertification and helping the judge make that decision. This vital decision will be the difference between helping to provide a chance for justice with rehabilitation and not paying the price of life in prison.

Think of your own adolescent experiences and imagine the mistakes made at 16. 16 year olds are so often confused, moody, defiant, and reckless with limited coping skills. The underdeveloped immature mind of a 16 year old can’t possibly comprehend the totality of most actions and their impact on their life and the lives of others. Let’s not let the behavior of a 16 year child be held to the same mental and emotional level of maturity as a man.
