Not In Favor of Re-Zoning In Residential Area to Allow Gas Station

They need to find another location already zoned for convenience stores, not place it next to people's homes.

Like was previously mentioned, u.s.t.'s are notorious for leaking at some point in time. The recovery and cleanup efforts are astronomical in price. Let's say it leaks into the water table slowly over a few years, there is no way the soil / water can be returned to pre contaminated conditions. Sure you can dig most of the dirt out, place vapor recovery and monitoring wells. In the long run its a bigger head ache than its worth. Let's say this becomes a busy gas station who is goin to keep up the property, picking up trash, etc? Look at some of the neighboring gas stations. They look great for a few months then they start to slide down hill. Now what about the traffic issues? Will a stop light, round about, or stop sign be put in near the entrance? More than likely not until there are several accidents. What's this going to do to homeowners property value? I surely can't see it increasing. All in all it's a bad situation for the people that live in the area.

Decatur Township is not that big, the one thing we have is multiple Ill placed gas stations with no regard to home owners and their property values. We have multiple liquor stores and gas stations. Clearly the zoning division and the powers that be have a vision not on par with the residents of Decatur Township.

We have enough gas/convience stores. We need to protect our neighborhoods from unattractive nuisances and keep Kentucky Ave. Bueatiful and free of signs polution.

This is ridiculous. How about a business that does not have underground tanks that can potentially poison the ground. It would be nice to stop developing gas stations and liquor stores. How about a steakhouse.

Tired of seeing buildings on every where. Leave something green to see.
There are already four gas stations within a 5-6 mile stretch of Kentucky Ave. no need for another one.

No gas stations in residential areas. If you must build one in the area, put it on the opposite side of the road where the other businesses are at.

Voting no on Wawa station at Mendenhall and Kentucky.
