Deborah E. Shapiro sits on the Livingston Town Council and the Board of Hanyu International Academy Charter School. The school's application to draw students and dollars from the Township of Livingston gives Ms. Shapiro an outright conflict of interest with the interests of the residents of the Township of Livingston. For so long as this conflict exists, Ms. Shapiro cannot effectively represent the interests of the residents of the Township of Livingston. Ms. Shapiro needs to make an immediate choice to resign from either the Livingston Town Council or the Board of Hanyu International Academy Charter School.
