Pennies are a waste. They cost the government $0.018 (1.8 cents) to make - EACH - and make Americans lose valuable time, and money because they spend time counting up their penny change. It has been calculated that it costs over a billion dollars per year for they American people as a total to fiddle around for pennies and count change.
