Dear True North Sports and Entertainment,

First off, thank you for bringing professional hockey back to Winnipeg. When it had been announced our team was to leave for what we all thought was the final time back in 1996, we had all but conceded defeat and accepted the loss of what was truly a vital piece of our collective heart and soul.

Mr. Chipman, thank you for believing in the largest small town on the prairies, and having faith in the hunger and support our people had for their hockey team. We never gave up. And you never gave up on us. We'll never forget that.

Thank you for listening to the calls from fans to rename the brand "Winnipeg Jets". It meant a lot to us that you'd back our play. Especially after you had already proven your loyalty to our fan base was unflappable.

In all humbleness, I now call on you to consider this not so much as a "petition" so to speak, but rather as a "request", that when our WINNIPEG JETS make the playoffs for the first time since their triumphant return on October 10th, 2011, that in the tradition of our team, Van Halen's "Jump" be played as a part of the player/team intros.

This was, and in many ways still is, ingrained in the hearts and minds of Jets fans across the world as one of the cornerstones of our identity and history as a professional sports franchise.

Should this happen, I can guarantee there will have never been a louder and more appreciative crowd in the MTS Center. Beer sales will reach an all time high, Twitter/Facebook will erupt with rabid praise, and sports media, teams, and management from coast to coast shall speak of the sentiment out of pure admiration and in some cases, envy.

We ARE the greatest fans in the National Hockey League. We never gave up and we never stopped believing.

We aren't asking.
We aren't demanding.

We're simply hoping that when our Winnipeg Jets finally return to the ice at home during playoff play, that along with our world famous "white out", we might also have the most suitable song imaginable accompanying us into battle.

They say "history repeats itself", and we have many reasons to believe this is true thanks to you. We are the TRUE NORTH strong and free.

Let the circle be unbroken.

GO JETS GO!!!

Sincerely,
Jeff "Broms" Bromley
(on behalf of Winnipeg Jets fans)
