I am a trans ally and stand for the human rights of trans people to present as and live the life they choose. However, I don't believe that 'transwomen ARE women' or that you can identify out of biological reality. It feels entirely wrong, and puts women's rights at risk if this is the basis of modern transactivism. Thus I stand with the signatories to ask Stonewall to reconsider it's stance towards trans activism and it's approach to the debate around this issue.

I'm all for trans rights. But women's sex-based rights must be upheld too. We have the right to single-sex spaces. And it is not hate speech to say that a woman is an adult human female.

Stonewall needs to take an objective view of its current policy to understand the consequences of the position it has taken

Do try to listen to the whole community in this debate, thus far you utterley failed women, failed girls, failed lesbians, failed ordinary people who don't have some rainbow obsessions. And as for trying to lower the age for sex re-assignment this is nothing other than child abuse.

We need to have discussion. I really welcome this genuine attempt to get all interested parties talking. Having a difference of opinion does not automatically equate to hate speech or bigotry. Let's talk without fear of intimidation. This issue is just too important.

Women's hard fought for and gained rights must not be eroded or eradicated. And never sidelined or silenced in any debate!

I'm an grown woman and have been a passionate LGBT advocate all my life. I find this lack of sympathy for women's rights and concerns to be totally alienating and a real smack in the face.

we have to fight the erasure of women because women's difference has meaning and value FOR life; trans issues, trans identifying people need community support in securing human rights alongside everyone else but not at the expense of women's human right to define themselves as different to trans identifying individuals, thank you

I'm horrified by the anti-lesbian focus Stonewall and the betrayal of young lesbian and gay people that is now the focus of it's activities. Stonewall has been instrumental in creating a toxic environment of debate.

I think that Stonewall has failed to consider the impact of its approach on women and girls and lesbians in particular. The impact of men as a class having access to spaces where women and girls are, or feel vulnerable is not considered in the rush towards wider access to those spaces. There are very clear reasons for which we sex segregate, for instance in sports. I am a 5ft 10 woman who was observed as female at birth. I go to a gym regularly and am not as strong as the vast majority of men. It is dangerous for people observed as Male at birth to be able to play women’s sports, and will discourage women and girls from playing those sports.

The closing down of debate and appropriation of language on this issue is truly Orwellian and very frightening. Do not destroy women's rights to appease a vocal minority.

You would have thought that we would have learned our lesson by now. Silencing people on their fears and opinions only leads to their views becoming less tolerant of others. Open debate where both sides listen and compromise is the only way everyone can move forward.

Recent events surely mean you have to stop being such idealogues and listen- or don't vulnerable female prisoners matter?
