This law is long overdue and until it passes, all users of our roadway are at risk of being killed by impaired drivers that our law enforcement cannot arrest. It should not matter what the impairing substance is. No person should be allowed to drive impaired and if they choose to do so, they should be punished appropriately. We need to give law enforcement and prosecutors the right tools to keep our roads safe for everyone. One victim is too many.
