This has affected a family member of mine. I see it in my nephew's face. His life will never be the same. Intoxicated is intoxicated. Treat it all the same. Regardless of the substance impairing the person.

A fellow graduate from my high school, Timothy Carpenter was killed tragically by a driver who had to be revived with Narcan at the scene. For things like this to be legal is not only wrong it is an embarrassment to the state of New York.

This has to stop! The political arena needs to realize it and do something about it.

Everyday on my daily outings I pass the spot where Timothy Carpenter was killed. I see the flowers and I have even seen the family there placing signs and flowers. My heart goes out to them. Anyone who drives impaired by drugs and or alcohol should be charged with a crime. Anyone that hurts and or kills someone should not be released. This epidemic needs to end.
