The initial act of driving impaired is intentional, the driver should be held responsible for the catastrophic consequences that follow.

I am in support of legislation to close the loophole that addresses Impaired Driving . Please sign the Deadly Driving Bill (S.6485c/A3981c) to make us all safer on New York State roads .

I support this bill 100%. Also; pot smoking while driving is also an impairment. ANY SUBSTANCE THAT ALTERS PERCEPTION SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH ZERO TOLERANCE. VIOLATORS SHOULD LOSE THEIR LICENSE FOR A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME, I.E. 36 MONTHS; BE INCARCERATED FOR AT LEAST 1 YEAR, FINED AND/OR PAY ADEQUATE RETRIBUTION TO THEIR VICTIM(S),GO INTO MANTADORY REHABILITATION & BE PLACED ON A PERMANENT " OFFENDER LIST" SIMILAR TO A SEX OFFENDER!

As a senior citizen and now retired, the local traffic has become so challenging! It seems to many people are in a big rush and take to many chances by not practicing a defensive attitude, just get out of my way because they think they own the roadways! We all must be on our toes by watching out for the other bad drivers. I hope this bill passes, we need it, thank you, James B. Calfa

We all need to do everything we can to make our roads safer for all who use them. Too many innocent people are being killed by impaired drivers.

I 1,000% support this bill! It is outrageous that this common sense measure has not been put into place sooner. I have witnessed too many times on the roads high and impaired driving, waiting for the accident to occur. When it does, the perpetrators should face the same consequences as impaired drivers via alcohol.

this won't pass because most legislators are lawyers who make big money defending the druggies & beside they voted to legalize pot.
